USED, EXCELLENT CONDITION! – 2 CD’s / “The Voice on an Angel” that’s the accolade Maestro Toscanini gave Renata Tebaldi at the sunrise of her career, and he was right. During the first part of her long career the voice was large, luminous, flexible and somewhat agile. The repertoire included Rossini, Wagner (in Italian), Gounod (in Italian), Spontini & Mozart beside, of course, Verdi & Puccini. When the voice grew darker, Tebaldi added verismo roles and concentrated on some of her old warhorses  but added “La Gioconda” (a complete success) and “La Fanciulla del West”. She recorded quite a few solo recitals and complete operas, some of them twice. Her phrasing made up for her criticized lack of dramatic involvement, although she greatly improved in this sense.
